Cloten is, even by the standards of the Space Marines, a huge and powerful being. The fact that he has the Red Thirst in his blood makes him an even more potent warrior. The curse of Sanguinius runs thick in his veins, but where most men fall to the rage and become rampaging monsters, Cloten has such strength of will that he can control it, at least to an extent. When Leonatos prepared to leave on his exile to find the lost Blade Encarmine, Cloten was there by his side to see the quest through whatever the dangers. Throughout the ongoing trials Cloten's great strength and courage have stood the exiled band in very good stead. But his strength has a price, and he constantly batlles with himself and the weakness that lies within. It is only when he meets and defeats a future version of himself - one who has succumed fully to the dreaded Red Thirst - that he can claim to have brought himself under control. This is something that few Blood Angels who felt the curse of Sanguinius can claim to have achieved.
Yeah, Red Thirst, no doubt giving the warrior the strength he needs to combat the foes of Man but at the price of sanity. Rare and respected to see Blood Angels like him and Mephiston being able to control their Red Thirst or Black Rage.
